Kelly McCann/Crucible Clip on Knife Draw

I was just surfing around on YouTube, looking at Kelly Mcann/Jim Grover videos.  I found this one on drawing a folding knife.  If you have never watched any of his videos, you are really missing out on some great, straight-forward, no-nonsense material.  He makes good points that will help you practice getting the weapon from your pocket and ready for action–kinda pointless to go armed with a weapon if you cannot produce it.  I know that seems obvious, but many people won’t even train that part, thinking that it will be a piece of cake to do in a lethal encounter.  Think again!  Heck, you might be surprised at the number of people who fumble around trying to dial 911 during an emergency.

  1. good video. Only problem with carrying a knife like that is you advertise that you have one. Wouldn’t it be much like carrying a firearm openly as joe blow citizen??

    • Yeah, I hear what you are saying. Unfortunately, here in Georgia, you are supposed to advertise that you have a knife on your person because of concealment law. This could prove to be very disadvantageous, although I think the first offense for carrying a concealed knife may be a misdemeanor, which I would gladly live with if I saved my bacon! On the other hand, there are a lot of clueless people out there who are not very observant. That is not to say you might not tangle with the wrong sort who sizes you up and looks for weapons. But you know, I see a ton of people everywhere carrying knives, which may not be there for defense, but utilitarian purposes. A little bit different from openly carrying a firearm, ya know? Just my thoughts, though. We have to weigh the pros and cons and make the best decision for ourselves.

      Thanks for the comment!
