Push-up Progression

Following in the same vein with the push-up video clip from yesterday, here is an interesting post on the benefits of calisthenics for combat athletes, and the progression he uses for one-armed push-ups (on Fitness Black Book):

If you are having trouble with two-armed push-ups, follow the same progression.  Keep in mind that if you are weak in this area, it will begin as a strength exercise.  As you easily pound out reps of full push-ups, you get into the endurance.  It is a great closed kinetic chain exercise, and I think you can make it a lot more interesting by changing hand positions and adding in variations as in yesterday’s post: https://combathard.wordpress.com/2010/01/10/strong-women/
